"Women, the Courts and the Shifting Notions of Liberty"

国产伦理 presents 鈥淲omen, the Courts and the Shifting Notions of Liberty,鈥 with award-winning journalist and legal affairs analyst Dahlia Lithwick. The lecture and book signing will take place on Thursday, Sept. 15 at 2 p.m. 聽in the Osher Lifelong Learning Auditorium, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus.

Coming on the heels of this summer鈥檚 controversial Supreme Court decisions, including the overturn of Roe v. Wade, Lithwick will help decipher this complicated moment in America鈥檚 story and explain the broader complications for First Amendment freedoms.

Tickets are $25 and the first 200 people to get a ticket will receive a copy of Lithwick鈥檚 book 鈥淟ady Justice: Women, the Law, and the Battle to Save America.鈥 国产伦理 students, faculty, staff and alumni are free with ID and all tickets are available at or by calling 561-297-6124. Lithwick is a senior editor at Slate, where she has written the 鈥淪upreme Court Dispatches鈥 and 鈥淛urisprudence鈥 columns since 1999. Her work also has appeared in the New York Times, Harper鈥檚, The New Yorker, The Washington Post, The New Republic and Commentary, among other places. She is host of 鈥淎micus,鈥 Slate鈥檚 award-winning biweekly podcast about the law and the Supreme Court. She is also a frequent commentator on MSNBC.

In 2018, Lithwick received the American Constitution Society鈥檚 Progressive Champion Award, and the Hillman Prize for Opinion and Analysis. She won a 2013 National Magazine Award for her columns on the Affordable Care Act, and she has been awarded twice an Online Journalism Award for her legal commentary. She also was inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in October 2018.

Lithwick earned a J.D. degree from Stanford University and a B.A. in English from Yale University.
